Hermann Siersbøl (1924-1064)
Young goldsmith at work
Right after school Herman Siersbøl started training to be a goldsmith. He was motivated by a desire to create affordable jewelry for the general public, for whom the specialised production of gold jewelry with precious stones were financially out of reach.
In 1945 Siersbøl set up his business, and he quite soon faced success. He made himself known for using a variety of materials, and designed pieces of good quality for large scale production, thus making them affordable. The business grew, and was at one point one of Scandinavia’s largest manufacturers of silver jewelry.
Location
Siersbøl had started ut his business in Central Copenhagen, and at a later stage moved to Tårnby, between downtown Copenhagen and Copenhagen Airport Kastrup. Pieces from their production are sometimes marked KS, an abbreviation for Kastrup Sølv (Kastrup Silver).
Herman Siersbøl tragically lost his life in an accident in 1964, and the company is run by his remaining family.
